It sounds like you are needing an idler hub like the Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-K which has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and is compatible with 3,500 lb axles.

A wider wheel would allow the tire to have a flatter surface across the top of it when inflated which might help a little bit with tire wear but realistically that difference is very miniscule. We don't have any way of knowing what is on your trailer but if you take a quick peek at the axle you should see a sticker on the beam that has the axle number, and if it says #12 and your axles have a 5,500 lb to 7,000 lb capacity each, you can use this kit. I do have an option for you but there would be no way to lift your trailer using your existing half torsion axle system as they just don't make anything to allow for this. The larger ST205/75-14 size you want to switch to has an overall diameter of about 26.3-inches and a width of 8.1-inches. The larger tire will increase your ground clearance by about 3/4-inch.
